Darius Garland has been out the last six games with a broken jaw. He was still expected to miss up to a month, but was one of the Cleveland Cavaliers the loudest voices cheer them.
The Cavs blew a 20-point deficit against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night, which excited Garland as he watched the game from afar. Garland was clearly excited after seeing his team win. The Cavaliers the social media site also posted a photo of the jumpy GM on a video call with Caris LeVert and Donovan Mitchell after the win. It was the same feeling that every player on the bench and fan at home must have felt watching Jarrett Allen and LeVert lock up Luka Doncic at half court on the final possession of the game. Good averaged 20.7 points and 5.9 assists on 47% shooting, which could be considered a slight drop for the All-Star point guard. Despite his absence, Cleveland has won five of its last six games against the toughest opponent in the NBA. DG will still be out, so the Cavs will have to continue this hot streak without him. However, seeing how active Garland has been with the team both on his bench and supporting his teammates, there’s no reason to think he won’t continue to cheer them on as he works his way back onto the floor.
