Former Stanford defensive lineman Jaxson Moi commits to Tennessee.
Adding defensive lineman Jaxson Moi from Stanford, Tennessee has made their second transfer portal commitment of the day. Having spent this past weekend in Knoxville, Moi is certain that Tennessee is the better option than Washington. Moi revealed the news on Sunday via X.
Following up his sophomore campaign at Stanford, the 6-2, 303-pound defensive tackle is now free agent. To play in Knoxville, he will have two more seasons of eligibility.
As the 541st overall prospect in the class, the San Diego, California native was rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports after graduating from high school.
Including the last six games of the season, Moi started seven of Stanford’s 12 games last season. For the year, he was given credit for 15 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1.5 sacks. Moi recorded 4.5 stops for loss in his rookie season.
When Kalen DeBoer left Washington for Alabama, where he was supposed to make an official visit, his recruitment through the portal took a different route. Rodney Garner was able to enter Tennessee and add another large body to his chamber because of that opening.
In the midst of the defense, Tennessee will bring back Omari Thomas and Omarr Norman-Lott. Tyre West, Dominic Bailey, Daevin Hobbs, and Bryson Eason will all play a role.
