Tennessee Insider: George MacIntyre Could Have a Significant Effect on Recruiting.

Brentwood Academy quarterback George MacIntyrechose the Tennessee Volunteers over Alabama last Monday. The No. 16 prospect in the 247Sports’ Composite Rankings boosted Tennessee’s national 2025 standing, as they now have the No. 9 recruiting class in America. However, there’s still work to be done. Tennessee has six commits in the upcoming recruiting class, meaning they have many more targets on the board. They are on a similar timeline to what they did in the 2023 signing class – blue-chip quarterback Nico Iamaleava chose the Vols in March of his junior year, and many thought elite talents would follow. Tennessee did sign several high-impact talents, but they finished No. 11 recruiting class when some thought they had a shot at a top-five class. VolQuest’s Brent Hubbs went on 104.5 The Zone’s “Ramon, Kayla, and Will,” and explained why MacIntyre could have a bigger impact on his recruiting class than Iamaleava because of geographical locations. MacIntyre’s in-state ties could be the sealer in several recruitments for Tennessee if they play their cards right in the coming months. “I think he can have a bigger effect than Nico did simply because he’s in the footprint, he’s two hours and 20 minutes from campus. So anytime Tennessee’s bringing some high profile guys in, it’s easier for him to get to campus and visit with them and help recruit them than it was for Nico.” VolQuest’s Brent Hubbs on George MacIntyre
