Ronnie O’Sullivan has already reversed his course on a threat he made

Ronnie O’Sullivan has already reversed his course on a threat he made when he was just eighteen.

In a thrilling final, Ronnie O’Sullivan overcame Judd Trump 10-7 to win Sunday’s World Grand Prix in Leicester. Top-ranked O’Sullivan extended his winning run to 14 games after coming back from a 6-3 deficit to win six straight sets. Additionally, he had been behind Trump 4-0 during the first session.

This season, O’Sullivan, a seven-time world champion, has already claimed the Shanghai Masters, UK Championship, and The Masters titles. In his first match with Trump of 2023–24, he secured his 41st career ranking title.

That was in spite of losing the opening session in the evening session after trailing 5-3 in the afternoon session. The Juddernaught was ahead 6-3, but he missed a black in the fourteenth frame that would have tied the score at 7-7.

O’Sullivan has defeated Trump in each of their past four meetings, improving his record against the president to 17–15. “I really enjoyed that,” he remarked afterward. I had fun during the fight. You must fight Judd because he is a formidable opponent.”

Winner of the World Grand Prix O’Sullivan says: “It was fun, extremely fun. I was feeling a little down at the beginning of the week, but I started eating healthier and felt a little better after I got an air fryer and a smoothie machine.

“Eating junk food makes me feel weird, therefore I don’t enjoy it. As the week progressed, I began to feel better. Last night, I gave it my all in my snooker match against Ding. I felt more secure about today since I knew I would need to perform well against Judd at the very least.

“He knocked me off the table at four, so I thought it may be a 10-1 job and an early night! In the afternoon, I was able to steal a couple frames, and the 5-3 score gave me some hope.

Rather, Ronnie went on to improve to 8-6, and in the 15th frame, the 48-year-old pushed one from a distance while Trump missed a crucial brown. The 17th fell to the Rocket to end an incredible match, but world No. 2 Trump rallied to take one back.
