Green Bay Packers: A 99-start career All-Pro expected to contribute to Jordan Love’s offensive.
It looks like the Green Bay Packers did it again. The Packers appear to have a franchise quarterback on their hands for the third time in a row. Jordan Love accumulated 4,159 throwing yards, 32 passing touchdowns, and 11 interceptions by the end of the 2023 regular season. An incredible beginning to a career.
To help Love advance, the Packers may now be adding a veteran.
Finally, focusing on Garett Bolles would provide Love with superior protection going forward. Last season, he played more than 1,000 snaps and allowed just three sacks, earning a 75.9 PFF rating.
The 31-year-old wasn’t afraid to express his displeasure with Denver’s continued losing campaign either. Given their tight cap situation, the Broncos are an obvious trade candidate. Russell Wilson’s release is anticipated, which will increase the value of the cap room.
Trading Bolles would free up $16 million for the Broncos, who are currently $25.7 million over the salary cap. The Packers, who typically do not trade picks for players, have five selections in the top 100 and 11 overall in this year’s draft; if there’s ever a time to use one of those picks for a veteran difference-maker, this is it. It’s difficult to determine a fair price for tackles because they are rarely available for trade, but Denver should seize the chance to acquire another Day 2 pick after acquiring Sean Payton in the offseason.
