The Los Angeles Lakers are just 1.5 games in front of the Fighters for the ninth seed, and a success here could be huge in the move out of the play-in competition – the two groups are tied in the misfortune section as well. The way things are, the Lakers have a 1-0 ordinary season series lead against the Heroes, and the sudden death round will matter between these two groups when the season is finished. Before the All-Star break, the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers have both played much better basketball. The Lakers have dominated three straight matches, while the Heroes have won 8 of their last 10 games. One of the teams will have to lose on Thursday night.
