Caitlin Clark discusses teaming up with Angel Reese for WNBA All-Star Game
It will be Caitlin Clark and Angel Reeses’ first time as teammates in their careers.
Both of the rookie sensations were selected as WNBA All-Stars on Tuesday, which means they will team up on July 20.
Clark was the only player in the league to receive more than 700,000 votes, and he also received the most votes of any player. Reese received five votes.
Their rivalry has grown to be something to watch because of their shared history from the collegiate national title the previous year.
It was recently refuted by Clark that the two are in a rivalry. But there’s no denying that the tale of the two navigating their entire drama over the past 15 months is real.
Clark is aware of it as well, but according to her, there are more pressing matters to attend to.
Clark remarked on Tuesday night, “I don’t think I’ve ever been her teammate before, even with USA Basketball or anything like that.” “I hope it doesn’t overshadow everyone else, but I know people will be quite thrilled about it. This is an enormous accomplishment for all members of both Team WNBA and Team USA. Everybody deserves the same praise.

It would be unfair to them if it took precedence over everything else and became the main event of All-Star weekend. And it goes without saying that this is a very difficult task to complete. We should appreciate each one of them to the fullest; naturally, I’ll be soaking up the moment because you never know when you’ll get the chance to return. Of course, it will be enjoyable for all of us.”
In addition to leading all WNBA rookies in scoring and assists per game (averaging 16 points and 7.1 per game), Clark leads the league in assists overall. Reese just established the league’s record for most consecutive games with a double-double (10). Reese leads the WNBA with 11.8 rebounds per game and is one of just four players averaging a double-double this season.
It all started with the 2023 national championship, when Reese, then with LSU, hit Clark, an Iowa Hawkeye at the time, with a “you can’t see me” taunt and pointed at her ring finger.
In the most recent March Madness tournament, Clark and Iowa exacted retribution; in their WNBA careers, Clark has a 2-1 record versus Reese. The floor, a bench, and a locker room will now be shared by the two. The two most viewed WNBA games in more than 20 years have been their last two encounters.
Only two rookies were selected as All-Stars: Clark and Reese. The Olympic squad from the United States will play them. There was a heated controversy after Clark was left off of the Olympic team.
