ennis sensation Coco Gauff achieved her dream of representing the United States of America at the Olympics this year in Paris, but it did not go to plan from a sporting perspective and she has to find a way to work through that.

The 20-year-old was not able to go to Tokyo in 2021 so this was her first chance to compete at the Olympic Games, and she became the youngest flag bearer of Team USA during the opening ceremony.

There was a lot of optimism around Gauff and her medal chances given she is the world number two in women’s tennis right now, but she only managed to reach the third round in the singles and the second round of the doubles. She did get to the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles with Taylor Fritz.

    Gauff assesses Paris 2024
While speaking on her experience at her debut Olympic appearance Gauff said: “I had a great experience. I mean it was from not being able to go to Tokyo to be able to go here, I just feel like you know LA (2028), I’ll hopefully be on the podium.”

She added: “I just don’t know, I just feel like that’s what life consists of like having a disappointing result and then the next time is like the best thing in the world (laughs).”

Clearly, Gauff definitely wants to compete at the Olympics again in the future and the fact that the next one is in the United States of America is an even bigger boost.

She told fans that she will ‘100% choose to do it again”. On becoming the youngest US flagbearer, she emotionally said: “I never thought in a million years I would have the honor of carrying the American flag for Team USA in the Opening Ceremony.”
