Three-Time Champion Jonathan Davenport Confirms High Likelihood of Returning to National Tour for 2025, Says He’s ‘90 Percent Sure’ He’ll Follow Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Again After Impressive Season-Opening Weekend at Golden Isles Speedway Near Brunswick, Georgia

BRUNSWICK, GA – The season-opening weekend of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at Golden Isles Speedway near Brunswick, Georgia, witnessed some thrilling action and marked an exciting start to the 2025 racing season. Among the competitors making a notable impression was three-time champion Jonathan Davenport, who shared his thoughts on the future of his racing career. After a promising performance in the opening event, Davenport revealed that he is “90 percent sure” that he will once again follow the national tour for the upcoming year.

The highly anticipated weekend kicked off with a strong turnout of both seasoned veterans and rising stars in the world of late-model dirt racing. Davenport, a fan favorite and one of the most accomplished drivers in the series, was expected to play a major role in setting the tone for the season ahead. As always, he delivered, putting in a solid performance that gave fans plenty to cheer about.

However, it was his comments after the event that truly caught the attention of the racing community. Despite the grueling demands of traveling the country and competing in the national series, Davenport expressed his confidence that he would once again take on the challenge of following the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series throughout the season.

“I’d say I’m about 90 percent sure that we’ll be back full-time with the national tour this year,” Davenport said in an exclusive interview. “I’ve had a lot of discussions with my team and the sponsors, and everything looks good so far. We had a good start here at Golden Isles, and it’s just one of those things where we’ve got to make sure all the details are lined up before we fully commit. But right now, I feel really good about it.”

The 2025 season marks a new chapter for Davenport as he continues to build on his storied career in dirt late-model racing. The veteran driver, who has won multiple championships and countless feature events, has long been a dominant force on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series circuit. His desire to return full-time to the series reflects his passion for the sport and his drive to compete at the highest level.

Golden Isles Speedway’s 2025 opener was filled with fierce competition, but Davenport’s performance stood out as a testament to his skill and consistency. His team worked diligently to prepare his car, and despite some early-season challenges, Davenport was able to show that he’s still one of the best in the business. His 90 percent certainty about rejoining the national tour shows his dedication to the sport and his belief in the strength of his team.

While Davenport is almost certain about following the national tour, he also emphasized that there are many logistical and financial considerations that still need to be addressed. The commitment to a full season of racing on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is not one to be taken lightly, with the schedule requiring drivers to travel across the country and face tough competition week after week.

“We’re going to take a little time to work out some of the finer details,” Davenport continued. “We’ve got a great team and a strong support system behind us, but a full season requires a lot of planning, both on the track and off it. We’re working on everything from sponsorships to logistics, and once all that is in place, we’ll be ready to make the full commitment.”

Despite the uncertainties that come with making such a major decision, Davenport’s track record and reputation in the sport give fans plenty of reason to be optimistic about his future with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. His past performances, including his multiple championships and victories in major events, have cemented his legacy as one of the best in the business.

The 2025 season of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series promises to be an exciting one, and with the possibility of Davenport returning full-time, fans are sure to be in for an action-packed year of racing. As the national tour heads to more tracks in the coming months, all eyes will be on Davenport to see if he can once again assert his dominance on the dirt racing circuit.

“I’ve always loved racing in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead,” Davenport concluded. “We’re still finalizing some things, but I’m excited about the potential of running the full tour. It’s a lot of work, but it’s also what I love to do. Hopefully, we’ll see you at the next race!”

As the racing season heats up, fans will eagerly await Davenport’s final decision regarding his return to the national tour. With his impressive career already etched in the history books, the possibility of another season of top-tier racing with one of the sport’s biggest stars is sure to make for an unforgettable year of action.
