Paul McCartney Says ‘I’m Sad That Most of My Friends That We Started This Band With Are No More’ as He Celebrates His Birthday With Mixed Emotions, Expressing Gratitude to God for Long Life While Mourning the Absence of John, George, and Many Close Friends From the Beatles Era”

Legendary Beatles icon Sir Paul McCartney marked his birthday today with a bittersweet message that resonated deeply with fans around the world. While celebrating his long life and incredible legacy, McCartney admitted he was feeling a profound sadness as he remembered many of the friends he started his musical journey with — most of whom are no longer alive.

“Today’s my birthday, and while I’m truly grateful to still be here and able to make music, perform, and connect with so many people, my heart is heavy,” the 82-year-old music legend shared in an emotional statement. “Most of the friends I started this band with — they’re no longer with us. John, George… I miss them every single day.”

The Beatles, founded in the early 1960s, changed the landscape of music forever. McCartney, along with John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, revolutionized pop and rock with timeless songs and a message of peace and creativity. Yet, as the years passed, the loss of Lennon in 1980 and Harrison in 2001 left McCartney as one of the last remaining members of the original group.

“I’m celebrating today, yes, but I’m also reflecting. I give glory to God for the life I’ve had and continue to have. Longevity is a blessing,” McCartney continued. “But part of that blessing is also having to say goodbye to so many along the way.”

Fans flooded social media with messages of love, remembrance, and gratitude for the living legend, thanking him for decades of music, love, and authenticity.
