The Slam Dunk Contest Field Was Announced by the NBA, and Fans Were Not Impressed.
On February 17 in Indianapolis during All-Star Weekend, the NBA unveiled the unofficial roster for the 2024 Slam Dunk Contest, and the names that were circulating left a lot to be desired.
Shams Charania reports that Mac McClung, Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics, Jaime Jaquez Jr. of the Miami Heat, and Jacob Toppin of the New York Knicks are the four players slated to play in the game.
McClung, a G-leaguer who played for the Philadelphia 76ers final season, will return to guard his title after revitalizing the dunk challenge final year with his out-of-the-box inventiveness and smooth execution.
Jaylen Brown, one of the greater names on the list, would be the primary All-Star in seven years to take an interest within the dunk challenge, which may earn a few fervor from fans.
Whereas numerous were happy to see McClung back and Brown partaking within the competition this year, the rest of the lineup didn’t precisely inspire expectation from the rest of the NBA community.
