Pigeon Forge Rod Run Bans Traditional Golf Carts for Upcoming Event

In a surprising move, organizers of the Pigeon Forge Rod Run have announced a ban on traditional golf carts for the upcoming event. The decision, aimed at enhancing safety and improving the overall experience for attendees, marks a significant change for one of the most popular car shows in the country.

The Pigeon Forge Rod Run, held biannually in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, attracts thousands of car enthusiasts from across the nation. Known for its vibrant display of classic cars, hot rods, and muscle cars, the event also traditionally featured the use of golf carts for easy transportation around the venue.

However, concerns over safety and congestion have led organizers to prohibit the use of traditional golf carts this year. “The safety of our participants and visitors is our top priority,” said event spokesperson Jennifer Taylor. “We’ve observed increasing issues with golf cart traffic and incidents in recent years, and after careful consideration, we’ve decided to implement this ban to ensure a smoother and safer event.”

The decision has received mixed reactions from the community. While some attendees support the move, citing past accidents and overcrowding as significant issues, others are disappointed by the restriction. Long-time attendee Carl Henderson shared his thoughts, saying, “I’ve been coming to the Rod Run for over a decade, and using a golf cart has always been part of the experience. It’s unfortunate, but I understand the need for safety.”

To accommodate those who relied on golf carts, the organizers are introducing alternative transportation options, including shuttle services and designated pedestrian paths, to help attendees navigate the expansive venue.

Local authorities and event staff will be working closely to enforce the new rules and ensure a seamless transition. Security personnel and volunteers will be stationed throughout the area to assist visitors and manage the flow of traffic.

As the Pigeon Forge Rod Run approaches, all eyes will be on how the new measures impact the event. Organizers remain optimistic that the changes will lead to a more enjoyable and secure experience for everyone involved.
